| Deaf Culture
Keep an eye on the schedule for the upcoming show on Deaf Culture.
It was one of the most interesting (and technically challenging) shows we've produced. It was a lot of fun having two Deaf guests and getting to learn a little about how to bridge the communications gap between us. |

| Episode 78 -- The Cancer Show
Please keep a close eye on the schedule as there's an important show coming up soon.
In episode 78 I sat down with some cancer treatment experts and survivors. There's a lot going on in the world of cancer and (I hope) this episode will encourage you to get screened regularly.
Finally, a couple of links related to the show:

| Episode 75!
Yesterday we shot three episodes of Davis County Now. This included our 75th episode!
In the coming weeks you'll have a chance to see the candidates for Davis County Commission and hear a little from them on what they have planned if they are elected.
You'll learn more about Deaf culture and the experience of being Deaf.
But, first up, you're going to get a chance to hear a little more about the Antelope Island Balloon Stampede and how you can volunteer to be a part of it. You'll also find out what's going on at Frightmares at Lagoon and whether or not it's appropriate for your young children.
I want to express my thanks to everyone who has helped with the show this past year, but especially the crew from Saturday's shoot: Cathy, Evan, Brandon, Kurt, Chris, and Alexis. We couldn't have done it without all of you! |

| New Episodes!
Just a quick "heads up" about some forthcoming episodes.
On DCN73 I'll feature an on-location interview by our own Megan Triplett. She'll be talking with Ranger Read and Causeway (his buffalo sidekick). Back in the studio, I sat down with some reading experts and local published author Mette Ivie Harrison.
DCN74 is all about the Davis School District. You may have heard that the Davis District was rated #1 among the 100 largest districts for graduation rates. This episode will you give a chance to find out how they pulled off this amazing feat.
If you haven't caught the special episode about the Antelope Island Balloon Stampede, you'll find it "on demand" on the DC17 home page at www.daviscable17.com |

| DCN's New Home!

Davis County Now has a new home!
The DCN studio has always been located at the Davis Applied Technology College. However, for the past eighteen months or so we've been working out of the College's library. Before every shoot we had to re-arranged the furniture and set-up the equipment.
Now, through the generosity of the College, we have a studio to call our own. This will make production work easier on our volunteer crew. Speaking of whom, this is a good place to acknowledge their work today. My thanks to Cathy Cummings (Associate Producer), Amanda Friz (Director), Brandon Nay (Floor Director), and Kurt Hills (Audio Engineer). Thanks also to Ian Cummings for lighting design and Evan Cummings for set design. |
